Frisco is heading into a packed fall weekend, and Saturday is doing most of the heavy lifting.

If you are searching for Frisco TX events this weekend, October 9–11 brings outdoor movies, shopping, music, nature activities and family-friendly fall events across the city.

Friday night: Spooky Movie Series at PGA Frisco.

The PGA District continues its complimentary October movie series Friday, October 9, with “Twitches” scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

Guests are encouraged to bring a lawn blanket, and district restaurants and concessions make it easy to turn the movie into dinner and a night out.

Saturday morning: start outside.

Sunrise Yoga is scheduled at 4th Street Plaza at 7:30 a.m., followed by Nature Adventure at Frisco Commons Park from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

Those are strong options for anyone who wants to use the cooler morning before moving into the busier afternoon.

Saturday: Fall Market at PGA Frisco.

The PGA District’s Fall Market runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with more than 50 vendors offering artisan goods, boutique items, jewelry, candles and other seasonal finds.

A pumpkin-decorating activity for kids is also scheduled during the market, giving families an easy fall outing without leaving Frisco.

Saturday: Fall Fun at Heritage.

The Frisco Heritage Center hosts Second Saturday: Fall Fun at Heritage from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with autumn and Halloween-themed crafts and activities for children.

This is one of the weekend’s strongest choices for younger families.

Saturday: add music to the afternoon.

The city calendar lists the Saturday Music Series at Frisco Fresh Market from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., creating an easy pairing of local shopping, food and live music.

Frisco Starfest is also listed for Saturday at Frisco Commons, giving residents a nighttime option built around public stargazing.

The useful strategy this weekend is to cluster your plans.

PGA Frisco can cover Friday night and Saturday market time, while Frisco Commons, the Heritage Center and downtown activities can anchor a different part of Saturday.

Event details can change, so confirm times and any registration requirements before leaving home.

But with fall weather arriving and the October calendar filling up, this is a weekend when staying close to home does not mean staying bored.

Really glad the article mentioned confirming details before going. Things change last minute more often than people expect.

Frisco Commons is doing a lot of work this fall. Between Starfest and the other events they have something almost every weekend.

      Raza BeggAuthor· Oct 10, 8:06 AM

Frisco Commons really has become a fall anchor for the city, and Starfest is a fantastic way to close out a Saturday that started with Sunrise Yoga on the same grounds.

My husband wants to skip everything and watch football. I am sending him this so he can see there are actual options this weekend.

  • RO
    Ray Ochoa· Oct 9, 12:30 AM

The fall weather really does change everything. Same parks feel totally different when it cools down. Good time of year to be outside.

    ChelseaFTX· Oct 8, 9:22 PM

Twitches is a great call but I low key wish they would do Hocus Pocus at some point this month. Classic for a reason.

  • JW
    Jason W.· Oct 8, 7:36 PM

Good reminder to check times before going. Went to an event last month and the hours had changed with no update online.

    • GM
      Gail M.· Oct 9, 8:31 AM

Jason W.This has happened to us so many times. I've started calling ahead now if it's a longer drive. Saves a lot of frustration.

    Priya N.· Oct 8, 6:30 PM

Candles and jewelry at a fall market is basically my kryptonite. My wallet is already scared for Saturday.

  • BH
    Bob Haskins· Oct 8, 3:51 PM

Heritage Center is a hidden gem. A lot of newer residents don't even know it exists. Good to see it getting mentioned.

  • M
    mara_j· Oct 8, 2:49 PM

Going to try to hit the morning yoga and then walk over to the market. That combo sounds like a perfect Saturday honestly.

    Derek Simmons· Oct 8, 2:30 AM

Frisco really does pack a lot into one weekend. Lived here 8 years and it keeps getting better in the fall.

    • RB
      Raza BeggAuthor· Oct 8, 8:21 PM

Eight years is a great run, and fall really does seem to be when Frisco hits its stride, the October calendar keeps growing every year.

    • F
      frisco_gal_88· Oct 9, 9:19 PM

Derek Simmons8 years here too and the fall lineup has gotten so much better. When I moved here there was basically nothing going on this time of year.

These roundup posts are so helpful. I never have time to dig through the city calendar myself so this saves a lot of time.

Nancy G.Same. The city calendar is honestly a little hard to navigate. Nice to have it all in one spot.

Wish Starfest had a little more info listed. Is it just open sky viewing or do they bring out telescopes too?

  • LF
    Luis F.· Oct 7, 10:43 PM

Does anyone know if dogs are allowed at the fall market? We bring ours to outdoor events but never sure about vendor setups.

    • RB
      Raza BeggAuthor· Oct 8, 12:30 PM

Great question, we'd recommend checking directly with PGA Frisco before heading over, as pet policies can vary by event and vendor setup, and confirming ahead will save you any surprises at the gate.

    • TB
      Theresa B.· Oct 9, 8:58 PM

Luis F.I've brought my dog to that area before and it seemed pretty relaxed about it, but I'd double check with the organizers since vendor setups can vary. Better to know ahead of time!

  • BW
    Brenda W.· Oct 7, 7:17 PM

Just a heads up that parking near the PGA District on market days fills up fast. Plan for extra time if you are driving over.

    • RB
      Raza BeggAuthor· Oct 8, 4:00 AM

Really appreciate the heads-up, arriving early is always a smart move on market days, and that's exactly why we suggest confirming details before leaving home.

    • D
      dave_in_frisco· Oct 9, 1:24 AM

Brenda W.Good call. We learned that the hard way last spring. Now we park a couple streets over and just walk in. Adds maybe 5 minutes and way less stress.

  • OC
    Olivia C.· Oct 6, 9:53 PM

Not sure stargazing in the suburbs actually works but I am willing to be surprised. Might check it out.

    • RB
      Raza BeggAuthor· Oct 8, 8:55 PM

Frisco Starfest is designed around public stargazing, so the organizers come prepared to make it work, definitely worth the trip out to Frisco Commons to see for yourself.

  • T
    tommy_k· Oct 6, 10:36 AM

Nature Adventure at Frisco Commons is great for little ones. My daughter did it last month and talked about it for a week.

      Pam R.· Oct 8, 8:41 AM

tommy_kOh good to know! We've been looking for something low-key for my 5 year old this weekend. Was it easy to find parking over there?

  • AC
    Adrienne Cole· Oct 6, 9:13 AM

The Frisco Fresh Market music series is underrated honestly. Chill vibe, good food, and you end up staying way longer than planned.

    • RB
      Raza BeggAuthor· Oct 7, 2:08 PM

It really is a hidden gem of a Saturday morning, the 11 a.m. To 1 p.m. Window pairs so naturally with the Fresh Market's local shopping that it's easy to lose track of time.

  • PD
    Phil D.· Oct 6, 8:41 AM

Cluster your plans is genuinely solid advice. We did PGA and then Commons last fall and it worked out perfectly.

    • RB
      Raza BeggAuthor· Oct 6, 11:36 AM

That PGA-to-Commons combination is exactly the kind of clustering we had in mind, and it's great to hear it worked so well in practice.

  • G
    gretchenb· Oct 6, 7:58 AM

Twitches is such a good pick for the spooky series. That movie is pure nostalgia for anyone who grew up in the 2000s.

  • CV
    Carlos V.· Oct 6, 7:49 AM

Anyone know if the pumpkin decorating at the market costs extra or is it included? Would help to know before we load up the stroller.

  • RP
    Rachel P.· Oct 6, 5:28 AM

Appreciate that most of these are free or close to it. Fall weekends in Frisco have really stepped up the last couple years.

    • RB
      Raza BeggAuthor· Oct 7, 4:37 PM

Accessibility is a big part of what makes this weekend special, when most activities are free or low-cost, it's much easier to sample several in a single day.

  • MT
    Mike T.· Oct 6, 4:48 AM

Starfest at Frisco Commons should be really good this weekend if the sky stays clear. Last time we went the views were great.

  • DH
    Dana Howell· Oct 6, 4:09 AM

Heritage Center does such a good job with the Second Saturday events. My kids always leave with a craft and a good mood.

    • RB
      Raza BeggAuthor· Oct 7, 7:19 AM

The Heritage Center consistently delivers on Second Saturdays, and a craft plus a great mood is honestly the perfect takeaway for younger kids on a fall morning.

    • K
      kristin_dfw· Oct 7, 9:55 PM

Dana HowellSame experience here. My son made some little paper bat thing last October and still has it on his shelf. They really do put thought into those activities.

Sunrise yoga at 7:30am on a Saturday? Respect to anyone who actually does that lol

    • MT
      Marco T.· Oct 7, 7:54 PM

sammie_friscoRight? I told myself I'd go and then immediately remembered I have zero willpower on Saturday mornings. Maybe next week lol

50 vendors at the fall market is no joke. Last year it was packed by 11am so get there early if you can.

  • JM
    Jen M.· Oct 6, 1:27 AM

Went to the PGA movie night last week and it was so fun. Definitely going back for Twitches with the kids Friday.

  • J
    Jules_77· Oct 5, 4:17 PM

Always a little sad when these outdoor movie nights end after October. Need them year round Frisco.

    • M
      marco_tx82· Oct 6, 4:01 AM

Jules_77Totally agree. The weather is honestly fine enough in November to keep going for a few more weeks at least. Feels like they end too early every year.

    • RB
      Raza BeggAuthor· Oct 6, 11:19 AM

You're not alone in that feeling, the complimentary October series at the PGA District is a great run while it lasts, so Friday nights this month are worth prioritizing.

  • BH
    Ben Hartman· Oct 5, 1:26 AM

Cluster your plans is actually solid advice. Too many people drive back and forth across town on weekends like this.

    • RB
      Raza BeggAuthor· Oct 5, 6:54 AM

Exactly the thinking behind including it, Frisco has so much going on in clusters this weekend that a little planning upfront saves a lot of windshield time.

    • N
      NicoleFrisco· Oct 5, 8:03 PM

Ben HartmanThat back and forth kills half the day. Figured this out last year after spending way too much time in the car on a Saturday that should have been fun.

  • LP
    Lori Pacheco· Oct 4, 7:49 PM

We did the pumpkin decorating at PGA last fall and the kids are already asking to go again. Good call including that.

    • RB
      Raza BeggAuthor· Oct 5, 7:07 PM

That pumpkin-decorating activity keeps earning its spot on the list, it's exactly the kind of low-pressure, seasonal fun that makes a fall Saturday easy for the whole family.

  • K
    keith_tx· Oct 4, 2:16 PM

Nature Adventure at the park sounds fun but that 9am slot fills up fast. Worth registering early if you can.

  • SF
    Sandra F.· Oct 3, 7:11 PM

Frisco Fresh Market with live music is honestly one of my favorite things about living here. Such a chill morning out.

    • G
      greg_plano· Oct 3, 9:34 PM

Sandra F.The music really does make the whole thing feel different. Way more relaxed than a typical Saturday errand run. Worth the drive over for us.

    • RB
      Raza BeggAuthor· Oct 4, 12:15 PM

It really is a natural pairing, local vendors, fresh produce and live music from 11 a.m. To 1 p.m. Makes for an easy, unhurried Saturday morning out.

  • M
    MikeD_469· Oct 3, 4:50 PM

The PGA district keeps coming through with free stuff. Movie night and a market in the same weekend is a solid deal.

    • C
      Cassie_469· Oct 4, 2:38 PM

MikeD_469Seriously. Free movies, free market to browse, what else do you need. The PGA district has been putting in real effort this fall.

  • CN
    Carla Nguyen· Oct 3, 3:18 PM

Heritage Center fall crafts are always a hit with my little ones. Highly recommend for anyone with toddlers.

  • P
    priya_ntx· Oct 2, 5:04 AM

Sunrise yoga at 7:30am on a Saturday though. Respect to whoever actually shows up for that.

    • RB
      Raza BeggAuthor· Oct 2, 2:31 PM

The cooler fall mornings actually make 7:30 a.m. A lot more manageable than it sounds, and as the article notes, it's a great way to use those early hours before the afternoon gets busy.

    • D
      DebbieC_Frisco· Oct 3, 5:12 AM

priya_ntxHa, I showed up once last spring and there were way more people than I expected. 7:30 is early but I think that crowd is just built different.

  • TB
    Tom B.· Oct 2, 4:57 AM

Every weekend in October is stacked. Hard to choose what to do first honestly.

    • RB
      Raza BeggAuthor· Oct 2, 7:33 PM

October really is something special in Frisco, and with this weekend alone covering yoga, markets, live music, stargazing and outdoor movies, the hardest part really is picking your starting point.

    • L
      Lori_DFW· Oct 3, 11:28 AM

Tom B.Right? I keep trying to plan one thing and then find out there are three other things happening at the same time. Good problem to have I guess.

  • DK
    Dana Kowalski· Oct 2, 3:27 AM

Stargazing at Frisco Commons sounds really cool. Never knew they did that.

    • F
      FriscoFam_Kim· Oct 3, 11:54 AM

Dana KowalskiSame, I had no idea until my neighbor mentioned it last month. Bringing the kids for sure, they love that kind of thing.

  • R
    Randy_Frisco· Oct 2, 2:45 AM

50 vendors at the fall market is no joke. We went last year and it was packed but worth it.

    • T
      Tanya_NTX· Oct 2, 10:30 AM

Randy_FriscoGood to know it gets packed. Might try to get there right at 10 to beat the crowds and actually browse without feeling rushed.

    • RB
      Raza BeggAuthor· Oct 3, 1:30 AM

Fifty-plus vendors does mean it gets lively, so arriving closer to the 10 a.m. Opening is a smart move if you want a little more breathing room before the crowd builds.

  • JM
    Jess M.· Oct 2, 1:10 AM

Twitches!! That takes me back. My kids have never seen it so this is perfect.
